Good afternoon friends of our Jazz Cabaret,

The fall weather caught me by surprise with frost and cool nights (and days) – but we are going to warm things up with our November 28 Jazz Cabaret. While our musicians will play some “cool” sounds, we promise to warm the room with love and songs that will elevate the mood and the temperature.

Since I choose the vocalist and accompanists, I think each succeeding group is better than the previous one, but, in fact, I think they are all exceptional. The November show has some of the greatest musicians in the jazz spectrum.

The vocal enchantress, Erin Burkett, leads the group with her lilting virtuosity and great song selections. Virgil Walters adds his skillful and near magical touch on the bass. Max Leake on the keyboard brings his light, lyrical touch, reminiscent of the late Bill Evans. Mike Tomaro, saxophonist extraordinaire, has few peers with his playing, arranging, and great abilities in the entire musical realm.

Remember this is a benefit – ALL the money made on the ticket sales goes to the St. Barnabas “Free Care Fund”.

Good afternoon Jazz Cabaret friends,

I mentioned at the August Jazz Cabaret that we were still finalizing plans for our November Jazz Cabaret. The arrangements have been completed. On November 28 we welcome back to our stage the lovely Erin Burkett with a group of musicians that has few peers. The lilting voice of Erin will be accompanied by Virgil Walters on bass, Mike Tomaro on saxophone, and the inimitable one – Max Leake on keyboard. This group is unsurpassed in their musical virtuosity both as a group and as individual talents.

We look forward to seeing all of you there as the Bartletts celebrate a wedding anniversary and a birthday – no numerical on my birthday – but we celebrate 59 years of wedded bliss in November.
