Good afternoon Jazz Cabaret friends and fans,
After a short (long for me) hiatus for my recovery from knee surgery, we are ready to resume our quarterly jazz musical offerings. And, what a resumption it is!
On May 20, 2020 Dane Vannatter, one of the best cabaret vocalists on today’s musical scene, will appear. He will be accompanied by three outstanding musicians who will further enhance Dane’s vocal virtuosity. Max Leake will spin his lyrical magic on the keyboards. Dr. James Moore, a trumpet player nonpareil, brings the stylistic nuances that add so much to the ensemble. On bass, a young man who joins the pantheon of great Pittsburgh bassists – Eli Naragon.
Dane and the group will feature songs by writers such a Johnny Mercer, Harold Arlen, and others who went on to compose music featured in the Great American Song Book. Again, please join us for a stroll down memory lane and create new memories. With our promotions of Jazz – America’s Classical Music – we are endeavoring to keep jazz alive and thriving in the world of music.
