Good afternoon to all you jazz fans – those who have supported our Jazz Cabaret at St. Barnabas – and to those of you who have not yet had the opportunity to attend our presentations and enjoy the venue and the music.
We produce a quarterly jazz show in the Mt. Vernon Room at Washington Place. Our sponsors provide the financial support to allow us to schedule some of the local musicians in the Pittsburgh area. They also help us provide tasty hors d’oeuvres in a setting reminiscent of the Pittsburgh jazz clubs of the 50’s and 60’s.
We have a charge of $12.50 per person and all of that money goes to the “free care fund” for needy patients in the St. Barnabas nursing homes. Our jazz efforts and many other efforts allow St. Barnabas to provide over 6 million dollars of free care every year! Your philanthropy and your support of jazz are very much appreciated.
The next Jazz Cabaret is scheduled for February 3, 2016. This will be a blockbuster presentation to start the new year. The Jessica Lee Trio will present songs from the “Great American Song Book”. Jessica is a delightful and talented lady who sings as beautifully as she looks. And, she is truly a renaissance woman – composer, producer, and a graduate of Duke University Law School. She will be accompanied by Mark Strickland on guitar and Chris Hemingway on saxophone – both of whom have musical reumes that are nonpareil.
